An intrepid if not full strength band of GCAC athletes and one David Martin - well, technically there were two of them but only one was team manager - travelled south to compete in the first of this season's British Athletics League fixtures in Watford on 7th May. After some harsh lessons in the Premiership last year, we were ready for the challenge of competing against some new and distinguished opponents: Basingstoke & Mid Hants; Blackheath & Bromley; Enfield; Harrow; Herne Hill; Southampton; and Thames Valley, in the second tier of the BAL.
After the success and feedback received from our Spring Event Specific Camps, the GAA are happy to announce that we will be holding TWO Event Specific Camps this Summer! We will be offering camps in: Circle Throws; High Jump; Hurdles; Pole Vault; and Sprints.
Our first match of the season took place in Grangemouth on Sunday, 1st May. Team Glasgow compete in the Northern Premier League East this year, which consists of teams from City of York, Gateshead Harriers, Kingdom Athletics, Leeds City AC, Team Edinburgh and Team Glasgow.
Below are the results of Friday night's GAA Miler Meet and Scottish 10,000m Championships that took place at Crownpoint. Well done to William Mackay of Aberdeens AAC and Jennifer Wetton of Central AC on taking the individual Scottish titles and sharing the £200 Prize Pot!
