Following the success of the GAA Metric Miler Meets outdoors this summer, we will be holding a short series of paced 3,000m races within the Glasgow Indoor Open Graded Series 2011/2012. There will be a designated pace maker in each race and all races will be seeded on current power of 10 data. The purpose of this series of races is to provide two opportunities for fast 3,000m races in Scotland over the holiday period. The 3,000m is an endurance event that has not been contested frequently enough during the indoor season in Scotland and we hope by adding two additional opportunities we allow:
- Indoor specialists to use them as over-distance work before tackling shorter middle distance races as their season progresses
- Cross country runners can use it as speed work before refocusing on longer races as the cross country season come to a peak
Entries for the GAA Metric Miler Meet 3,000m races will be available via the BMC website and will be by pre entry only.
