The Glasgow Endurance Sessions series continued today at Tollcross Park. Fifty athletes from all over the West and Central Scotland congregated to take part in a session of 6 - 10 x 4 minute efforts with 2 minute jog recoveries.
Norrie Hay was lead coach for the session and after delivering instructions to the athletes, quickly set them on their way just as the downpour began.
The rain did not dampen spirits as the group quickly set about their task churning out rep after rep on the undulating mucky course. The number of reps varied from athlete to athlete, based on age and ability, with an aim to run an accumulative time similar to next weeks District Championships.
Mathew Gilliespie, recently selected for the European Cross Country Under 23 Great Britain team, was at the front of the pack with brother Michael, Lachlan Oates and Tewoldeberhan Mengisteab close on his heels. The growth in female participants continues as sisters Emily and Louisa Stewart set the pace for the ladies.
Well done to all the athletes and coaches who braved the cold and wet conditions to help continue the positive work done at these sessions.
