Following a break; the Glasgow Athletics Association Friday night, High Jump Sessions will recommence on Friday 3rd

February 2012. These sessions will take place every Friday night subject to Kelvin Hall ISA Track being available and

introductory Pole Vault will be included for the first time. Hence the new title to Glasgow Jumps Workshops.

The purpose of these workshops is to develop High Jump and Pole Vault Coaching skills in Glasgow and the West of Scotland; however the sessions are open to all coaches and athletes, not just those based around Glasgow.

Coach; John Melvin, former National High Jump Coach, will be leading the High Jump Sessions and Coach; Brian Donaldson will be offering opportunities for coaches/athletes to develop their pole vaulting skills. The GAA hope that other coaches and international athletes will become part of delivery of these Friday Night Sessions.

Coaches are invited to interact at these sessions allowing the sharing of ideas and experiences along with the opportunity to share in problem solving and development of technique.

Pole Vault sessions will focus on introducing the Pole Vault to Club athletes and coaches and if there is sufficient demand, these sessions may transfer to Club Venues throughout the summer months.

Coaches and athletes are welcome to attend sessions which will take place in Kelvin Hall ISA between 18:30 and 20:30. Athletes will need to pay normal entry rates for accessing the Kelvin Hall ISA. Coaches do not pay, on submission of their coaches pass.

Clubs, Coaches and Athletes interested in attending these sessions should make contact with Gordon Phillips @ gordon.phillips@glasgow life.org.uk in order that you can be added to the mailing list.
