The organisers of the Ignis Asset Management Women's 10k on Sunday 13 May 2012 are looking for pace makers to run in the various pulse starts in this year’s race. The Organisers believe this will enhance the race and give people assistance in achieving some of the ‘iconic’ times.

They have asked the Glasgow Athletics Association to liaise with the Clubs to find suitable volunteers.

We are looking for female athletes prepared and able to set a pace of 45 minutes, 50 minutes, 60 minutes and 90 minutes. As volunteers they will receive a free entry for the Great Scottish Run and be provided with a technical vest to identify them as pace runners.

We don’t have a lot of time. Could you ask likely candidates in your Club and post the request on your website and on any other sources of information your Club uses?

Athletes interested in taking part as a pacemaker should contact Gordon Phillips on 0141 287 7025 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
